Interreg Europe funding – Call for proposals open

The Interregional cooperation programme (policy learning programme for European public authorities) will continue under the name INTERREG EUROPE for the period 2014-2020. It is the successor programme of INTERREG IVC which aimed at helping European regions to design and implement regional policies through exchange of experience, knowledge and good practices. The programme covers the whole territory of the European Union, Norway and Switzerland. It is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with a budget of EUR 359 million for 2014-2020.

State heritage authorities can get involved by becoming a “transnational project partner” (partnership agreement made between different European countries). The first call for projects is open from 22 June until 31 July 2015. One of the programme priority axes is directly linked with cultural heritage:

“Improve the implementation of regional development policies and programmes, in particular Investment for Growth and Jobs and, where relevant, European Territorial Cooperation programmes, in the field of the protection and development of natural and cultural heritage.” (Priority axis 4)
