The Interdisciplinary Research Group Museums, Collections and Society (MCS) is organizing a conference on 5-6 July 2023, in collaboration with the LDE Centre for Global Heritage and Development.

The conference sessions will cover topics such as the changing roles of modern art museums, the protection of cultural heritage in Ukraine, provenance research and the digital, and collecting in the 21st century, bringing together national and international colleagues to discuss issues and problems in their fields of expertise.

Call for participation: workshop on geoheritage management in UNESCO designated sites

UNESCO, with its unique mandate in Earth Sciences, plays a vital role in promoting a sustainable world, with geoscience at the core of its mission. A workshop on geoheritage management in UNESCO designated sites will be held on 19 - 22 October 2023 for personnel working with current or aspiring natural UNESCO designated sites.

Monuments and Sites de-colonial! Methods and Strategies of Dealing with the Archi- tectural Heritage of the German Colonial Era

Monuments and Sites de-colonial! will be dealing with the architectural relics of the German colonial era and investigating post-colonial strategies of appropriation and critical communication regarding these buildings. In addition to possible references to pre-colonial legacies, the focus will be primarily on the period of the German colonial era from around 1880 to 1920. The spectrum of case studies will refer both to the territory of the German Empire itself at the time, as well as to the former German colonies in Africa, East Asia and the South Pacific.

ICOMOS Workshop: Learning from Ahrtal – Climate, Resilience and Heritage
